Welcome to the Stevens Point Eco-Municipality Website.

The ground work is laid!!! On June 16th, 2008, Stevens Point City Council unanimously voted to designate Stevens Point as an Eco-Municipality. It takes a combined community and government effort to move this resolution from theory to practice.

Back in June 2007, Stevens Point Mayor Halverson formed the Stevens Point Eco-Municipality Task Force, with the goal to develop a sustainable framework for our community's future. You can read some of the recommendations put forth and other upcoming events on this website.

Volunteer at Riverfront Rendezvous

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out and helped support the city in their recycling efforts at Riverfront Rendezvous. We collected close to 50 bags!!! In the past, those bags would have gone straight to the landfill. You all are marvelous!!

We are seeking volunteers for the 2010 Riverfront Rendezvous. We only clean-up the recyclables. Everyone is provided with gloves. Shirts are available to borrow. We collect, clean, and re-use the shirts each year. Times available: Friday: 8PM-9:30PM, 10PM-11PM, Saturday: 5PM-6:30PM, 8PM-9:30PM, 10PM-11PM, and Sunday: 8PM-9:30PM and 10PM-11PM. Please contact Susan at suermer@hotmail.com or 715-343-1960 to volunteer.
